【An overlooked signal: TRX trading volume is shrinking during the recovery】

What’s really worth thinking about isn’t TRX’s current price, but its trading volume.

TRX is up 1.5% over the past 24 hours and down just 0.8% over the past seven days. Sounds like it’s stabilizing. But look closely at the trading volume—it’s low. So low that even technical traders can’t be bothered to act.

What does that tell us?

The market sentiment index is at 62 (Greed), and the weekly average is also 62. People aren’t exactly panicking. But not panicking doesn’t mean they’re bullish; mostly, they’re waiting.

I saw this pattern back when I worked in e-commerce: in the first few days after a product went on sale, scalpers were always the first to rush in. People who actually wanted to buy would wait and see if the price might drop further. Once that wait-and-see sentiment sets in, the price gets stuck in limbo, with neither a clear way up nor down.

From a business perspective, what does this actually mean?

This recovery in TRX is essentially a digestion of earlier gains, not a rally driven by new capital flowing in. BlackRock’s crypto ETFs have grown to $79.6 billion in assets, but that’s still 23% below last year’s peak—the institutional money is still flowing back in and hasn’t fully returned.

In other words, the market is currently being driven by existing capital trading against itself, not by new money coming in. In this kind of environment, it’s not easy for a mid-cap token like TRX to put together a meaningful rally.

But it’s not without opportunity. When trading volume hits rock bottom, that can be a signal of an impending trend reversal. I’ve seen it play out firsthand: during those months when Ethereum traded sideways in 2019, the ones that eventually took off weren’t the “hot sectors”—they were the projects the market had forgotten about, but whose teams kept building.

What do you think of this move? Would you wait for TRX’s trading volume to pick up before getting in, or do you think a long stretch of sideways trading is an opportunity?
