Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank, has been approved to conduct crypto trading. An updated register from the Central Bank of Russia shows that the number of authorized crypto exchange operators rose from 4 to 10 in a week, while the number of digital asset custodians increased from 5 to 6. Sberbank and VTB are among them (Cointelegraph, October 14).
Sberbank previously said it would launch a product supporting BTC, ETH, and USDT on December 1, 2026, and has already tested buying, selling, deposits, and withdrawals in its app (citing Vedomosti). Market snapshot from Binance at 04:55 on October 15: BTC was at $81,776.01 (-1.968%), with a 24-hour range of $81,514.28–$84,146.72; ETH was at $2,416.97 (-3.768%).
Personal view: This is a medium-term factor tied to the expansion of institutional access; in the short term, prices are still driven by CPI and interest rates. A bullish trigger would be a 4-hour close above 82,600 followed by a retest that holds above 81,800, with targets at 83,200 and 84,150 and a stop-loss at 81,300. A bearish trigger would be a break below 81,500 followed by a failed reclaim, with targets at 80,000 and 79,000 and a stop-loss at 82,600. A daily close back above 84,150 invalidates the bearish outlook.
