XRP loses $117 billion in market capitalization and retreats in the crypto market
XRP’s share of the total crypto market capitalization fell from approximately 5% in July 2025 to around 3% in October 2026. This decline primarily reflects a relative loss in value compared with other digital assets and does not mean that use of the XRP Ledger fell by the same proportion.
XRP’s dominance in the crypto market fell from nearly 5% to 3.1% since July 2025.
Its market capitalization fell by approximately $117 billion, mainly due to the drop in its price.
The increase in circulating supply mitigated the loss in market capitalization but did not prevent the price from falling.
Growing adoption of the XRP Ledger does not necessarily translate into increased demand for XRP.
Inflows into XRP ETFs and renewed interest in altcoins could help its dominance rebound.
XRP’s market capitalization loses approximately $117 billion
XRP was trading at around $3.42 in July 2025, when its circulating supply stood at approximately 59.2 billion tokens. Its market capitalization then exceeded $202 billion, or about 5% of a crypto market valued at around $4 trillion.
The token is now trading near $1.37, with approximately 63.1 billion XRP in circulation. Its market capitalization has fallen to around $86 billion, a decline of nearly 57% and a loss of about $116 billion.
Meanwhile, the total value of the crypto market is around $2.8 trillion. XRP therefore accounts for approximately 3.1%, behind Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and BNB.
This share, often called dominance, is calculated as follows:
XRP’s market capitalization divided by the market capitalization of the entire market;
