🇺🇸 According to Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan in an interview with CNBC on Wednesday (October 14), the bank hired 1,000 external contractors to fix software vulnerabilities uncovered by Anthropic’s Mythos AI model. Moynihan said the contractors had been brought on starting in the second quarter and remained on staff alongside the existing 3,000-person technology team.
The bank spent “a few hundred million dollars, or more” on software fixes in the third quarter. Moynihan told analysts that remediation costs should decline over time as upgrade work progresses, while emphasizing the need to “stay ahead” of the threat discovery enabled by AI.
