There’s just one keyword in crypto today: shakeout. With South Korean stocks plunging and CPI data coming up, the market is taking advantage of the turmoil to flush out highly leveraged contracts, shaking out the less-convicted bulls first so it can move forward with a lighter load.

$BTC is currently around 83,770, after briefly dipping below 83,000 intraday. The main drag was the South Korean stock market, and investor sentiment is fragile, with everyone waiting for CPI to set the direction. $ETH is around 2,513. After a deep shakeout, it’s now making a daily-chart recovery bounce—a classic case of bouncing once the decline runs out of steam. $SOL is around 107.81, rebounding mildly with the broader market, but there are no signs of independent strength. DOGE is around 0.0849. It bounced after holding the key 0.08 level, but momentum is weak and it’s still below the moving averages.

A shakeout isn’t bad news. The bad news is getting shaken out at the bottom.
