With 9 of the largest banks in the U.S. tightening the crypto liquidity tap all at once, where will institutional money flow?

A newly released OCC report confirms that JPMorgan, Bank of America, and 7 other Wall Street institutions have policies restricting services to crypto exchanges and funds—the official reason being “reputational risk.” With fiat on-ramps squeezed, institutional capital can no longer flow into the market as smoothly as before.

The impact is already visible on the charts: $BTC is currently at 81,792.6 USD (-1.69% in 24h), while $ETH has fallen to 2,437.09 USD. In an environment where liquidity is contracting like this, whales have little incentive to drive a breakout. Instead, sweeping liquidity on both sides to shake out highly leveraged futures positions is the scenario I’m watching closely.

I don’t have any positions here yet. If $BTC holds above 81,000 USD after tonight’s U.S. session, I may consider a scalp—not because I’m optimistic, but because that’s where the deepest liquidity is on the current order book.
