˗ˋˏ🚨ˎˊ˗ RIPPLE REACHES ITS 4️⃣TH INSTITUTION IN KOREA ⋙ AND WHAT ABOUT CRYPTO $XRP ❓🤷
Ripple’s institutional expansion in South Korea has just added another major name.
Meritz Securities, one of the country’s leading brokerage firms, has formed a strategic partnership with Ripple to explore↴
🔥 INSTITUTIONAL CUSTODY + TOKENIZATION
It’s Ripple’s first partnership with a Korean securities firm and its fourth institutional partnership in the country in 2026 alone.
Today, its presence includes↴
Kyobo Life → tokenized government bonds
Kbank → wallet infrastructure
Jeonbuk Bank → international payments
Meritz Securities → custody + tokenization
Meritz is also exploring opportunities involving spot ETFs, fractional investments, security tokens, trading platforms, and won-denominated stablecoins as Korean regulations evolve.
But here’s the crucial point↴
⚠️ PARTNERSHIP WITH RIPPLE ≠ CONFIRMED XRP ADOPTION.
The announcement does not mention:
❌ an XRP purchase
❌ a product launched on the XRPL
❌ XRP transaction volumes
❌ a KRW stablecoin issued on the XRPL
In fact, Ripple Custody can support assets on different networks. So we can’t turn four institutional Ripple clients into four cases of direct XRP adoption.
If Meritz assets are issued or settled on the $XRP Ledger in the future, the cryptocurrency $XRP could have technical roles in fees and reserves, and potentially other roles if explicitly chosen by the architecture. This has not been announced yet.
The real story is already significant↴
RIPPLE IS ENTERING KOREA’S BANKING, INSURANCE, AND CAPITAL MARKETS.
💬 Now we need to answer↴
WHERE WILL XRP FIT INTO THIS INFRASTRUCTURE?
