Found an infrastructure-focused update that probably won’t make much noise: Kaia DLT Foundation announced today that, starting with Epoch 4 on October 21 (around block height 230,342,400), it will add $JPYC, an electronic payment instrument under Japan’s funds settlement law, to the assets eligible for Contribution Rewards (CR). Previously, only $USDT qualified.

The eligibility criteria haven’t changed: to qualify, you need to deposit stablecoins in Unifi, and the same wallet is assessed at a rate of “10 staked $KAIA for every approximately $1 of stablecoin contribution.” This is an eligibility ratio, not a yield rate. $JPYC is converted to its USDT equivalent using Orakl’s average price for the Epoch; deposits made before the program starts won’t be counted retroactively.

The tougher measure is the burn engine: CR’s monthly budget is fixed at 2.5 million $KAIA. Anything that can’t be identified or distributed is burned directly—not put into the foundation’s pockets. The two rounds confirmed a total burn of 4,905,146 tokens: first, on October 21, the unallocated Epoch 1 tokens (about 2.46 million), originally scheduled for November, were burned ahead of schedule; then in November, 2,441,567 Epoch 2 tokens were burned.
