THE HARE AND THE TORTOISE - HODL > HYPE
"There's no point in running; you have to set off at the right time."
In Ancient Greece (6th century BCE), Aesop told the story of a speedy hare who mocked a slow tortoise and challenged her to a race. Confident, the hare dashed off, then stopped for a nap. The tortoise kept going steadily, step by step, and won.
"Slow and steady wins the race."
With the fable The Hare and the Tortoise, a classic from 1668, French writer Jean de La Fontaine, inspired by Aesop, was already talking about DCA without knowing it: there's no point in scalping on a 5m chart like an anxious hare. Those with a plan, patience, and consistency (the tortoise) go further.
In the market, the winner isn't the one who runs fastest. It's the one who doesn't stop.
