Why are there so many tokens, and can a single wallet receive them all?
My understanding is that the barrier to issuing an ERC-20 token is low. Anyone can choose any name and symbol, so you need to identify a token by its contract address—don't just go by its name.
Many DeFi projects' governance tokens are ERC-20 tokens, such as Uniswap's $UNI .
ERC-20 tokens are issued on Ethereum, and transfers require $ETH to pay Gas. Currently 2431.43.
