$BTC perpetual contract saw a $5.93 million long position liquidated intraday.
Let’s use this data to talk about liquidations.
A long liquidation is when a leveraged long position is forcibly closed, usually when prices fall. Short liquidations are the opposite and tend to happen during rallies.
The often-mentioned term “long squeeze” refers to a price drop triggering long liquidations, with sell orders from those closures pushing prices down further. A “short squeeze” is when rising prices trigger short liquidations, and buybacks push prices even higher.
The point of understanding an indicator is to avoid being misled by a single number—not to use it to predict market tops or bottoms.

Just my personal opinion, not investment advice.
