ASML $ASMLB reported Q3 revenue of €11.662 billion, up 55.2% year over year, and net profit of €4.960 billion, up 133.5%. Gross margin was 57.5%, compared with 54.0% in the previous quarter.

The revenue mix is even more noteworthy. Systems revenue was €8.373 billion, up 50.8% year over year, while services and field options revenue was €3.289 billion, up 67.6%—a noticeably faster pace. Beyond buying new equipment, customers are also spending to improve the productivity of machines already installed, so the installed base continues to generate revenue. Net profit included €510 million in gains from equity investments; to assess the core business, look at operating profit of €5.173 billion.

Demand visibility has also extended further out. Management said customers’ near- and medium-term demand forecasts continued to rise. Some customers have already expressed interest in placing orders for 2029 and 2030, and the company is still studying plans to increase production in 2028 beyond its original target. Expressions of interest are not the same as orders.

Going forward, watch how smoothly these plans translate into results. Q4 guidance is €14.2 billion to €15.2 billion, with full-year guidance of €44 billion to €45 billion. Any disruption in equipment delivery, customer acceptance, or export restrictions could undermine the high guidance.
