U.S. inflation surged to 3.7% in September, above expectations—$BTC sent it straight through $83,000.

A stronger dollar and rising two-year Treasury yields pushed the odds of another rate hike this year on CME to around 87%. Gasoline accounted for more than half of the inflation momentum, and the market instantly switched from “rate-cut dreams” back to “the fight isn’t over yet.”

From the perspective of a 985 graduate waiting to break even: when macro heats up, crypto is the first thing people sell to cut losses. Breaking below a round-number level doesn’t mean the narrative is dead, but short-term liquidity can be brutally honest.

Do you think this dip is a trap for buyers, or is the rate-hike trade only just getting started?
