What’s the difference between U-margined and coin-margined contracts?
Both U-margined and coin-margined contracts include perpetual contracts and delivery contracts that expire quarterly. The trading pairs available are not exactly the same.
Coin-margined contracts use the underlying coin itself as collateral and settle profit and loss in that coin. For example, a BTC coin-margined contract settles profit and loss in BTC.
The most important thing to keep in mind when managing positions is to check whether you’re opening a U-margined or coin-margined contract. The order quantity is calculated differently for each.
