Dealers pull products overnight—the Ledger crisis is no quick fix

Dealers were told to stop sales immediately. That says more than any vulnerability announcement could. Ledger’s move to ask dealers in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to suspend sales has been seen by some as a temporary supply-chain adjustment. But in my view, when distributors are more rattled than buyers, it means the cost of trust has completely eclipsed the product’s value. Technical fixes simply can’t restore market confidence. Next, we need to watch closely to see whether this supply cutoff spreads to the key markets in Europe and the US, and whether other major hardware wallet brands trigger a chain reaction. It’s time for ordinary users to do the math again: entrusting your assets to a metal box that even dealers are afraid to touch is like hanging the key to your vault on a rope that could snap at any moment. 🔒
