$BTC CPI is about to be released—what is Wall Street expecting?

U.S. stocks edged higher ahead of the release of September CPI data. This is the most important indicator to watch today.

Headline CPI is expected to rise 3.6% year over year, compared with 3.4% previously.

Core CPI is expected to come in at 2.5%, while the monthly rate of increase may slow from 0.3% to 0.2%.

If CPI data comes in higher than expected, expectations that the Federal Reserve will continue tightening could return. In that case, the US dollar and yields could rise, adding pressure on high-risk assets such as BTC and the Nasdaq.

Conversely, easing inflation would ease market concerns about a new wave of interest rate hikes and could help money flows return.

In addition to CPI, a series of reports from Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and BlackRock are also due today.

One notable point is that ASML raised its annual revenue forecast to between EUR 44 billion and EUR 45 billion. Demand for chips and AI infrastructure remains very strong, with some customers even placing orders for 2029 and 2030.

As for May, there’s no need to rush into guessing BTC’s direction today.
