🧮 DeFi|Flash loans
· Definition: The borrowed funds and fees must be returned to the liquidity pool before the same transaction ends. Otherwise, the entire transaction is voided, as if it never happened.
· How it works: Flash loans aren’t a vulnerability in themselves; in an attack, they’re only used to amplify the amount of capital involved. The real issue usually lies in the targeted protocol’s price sources or contract logic.
· Reminder: When evaluating a protocol, check where its prices come from. Protocols that rely only on the instantaneous price from a single DEX pool are vulnerable to flash loan attacks.
