Google’s Gemini 4 Argon officially became available to paying users yesterday.

After its September 30 announcement, Google initially made it available only to cybersecurity defense teams because of its strong ability to find vulnerabilities. Now, it’s available to paid API users and Pro and Ultra subscribers of the Gemini app, but not to free users.

A limited-time API offer runs through November 30: $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Starting in December, the prices will double to $4 and $20, respectively.

In terms of performance, it ranked first on the Vals Index, which tests practical tasks such as finance, law, and coding. But in the third-party Artificial Analysis overall rankings, its score of 53 trails Claude Opus 5.5’s 58 and ties with GPT-6 Astra. It also lost to Opus in a coding terminal benchmark.

Argon can process 1 million tokens at a time, equivalent to several books.
