As of 11:00, let’s talk about daily RSI14, a tool that’s often misused. Many people see RSI fall into the 40s and shout, “It’s oversold—it’s due for a rebound!” That’s a misconception: RSI only reflects the relative strength of buying and selling over a period of time. Being in the neutral zone (between 40 and 50) only means that neither side has a temporary advantage; it doesn’t mean the trend is about to reverse. Relying on RSI alone to make decisions can easily lead you astray.
The two examples in front of us make this clearer. $GRAM ’s daily RSI14 is 44, and its current price is 1.382—just 21% of the way through its 30-day range of 1.286–1.740. It’s down 4.2% over the past 7 days, and the current price is also 2.0% below the daily MA7 (1.411). But its 24-hour trading volume is only 5.5 million USDT, or 0.5 times the average daily volume over the previous 7 days. Trading is very quiet, so the RSI signal is less reliable at this low volume; a single large order could skew it. $XRP ’s RSI14 is 43, and its current price is 1.373—31% of the way through its 30-day range of 1.247–1.658. It’s just 0.6% below the daily MA7 (1.381), and its trading volume of 130 million USDT is 0.9 times the average over the previous 7 days, making it relatively active. The same RSI reading is therefore somewhat more reliable here than for GRAM.
So, when looking at RSI, don’t focus only on whether the number is high or low. Also consider whether trading volume is sufficient and how far the price is from its moving average. Otherwise, it’s easy to mistake “neutral” for a “signal.” Just my personal observations; this is not investment advice.
