The HarmonyOS App Store emailed Coolapk saying that many Android features are missing from HarmonyOS. They also called to ask, “When are you planning to shut down these Android features that HarmonyOS doesn’t have?” If the HarmonyOS app and Android version can’t be made completely identical within 30 days, it will affect their recommendations in the rankings.
Coolapk editor Hu Songhua was absolutely livid, and then went off on a rant. The gist was:
1. What does it have to do with HarmonyOS when I remove these features from Android? Stop fixating on our Android features. Maybe you should take a look at the design of our iOS version too. Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS each have their own characteristics—they can’t possibly be completely identical.
2. Huawei, stop acting so superior all the time. “If you don’t do what I want, I’ll use my xx attitude to threaten and make demands of developers.” We have our own plans and considerations for the HarmonyOS version, and we’re already doing everything we can to build it.
Like I said, Huawei is at its best when it’s half-dead. If they dare treat developers like this, I can’t imagine how they treat consumers. So this old Kun master has to ask: When will Nova shut down the features that Mate doesn’t have? 😂😂 3D Live Photos, Live Photo collage—where are these features making money, may I ask?
