#Ledger要求东南亚及香港经销商暂停销售
1️⃣ Incident timeline
Cause: Assets were stolen from Southeast Asian users who bought Ledger devices through the authorized reseller CryptoBilis. On-chain investigators estimate losses of approximately $86 million–$93 million (Ledger has not officially confirmed the total).
October 9: Ledger asked CryptoBilis to suspend sales and shipments. If a device purchased within the past 90 days has not been initialized, do not initialize it. If you have already used it, create a new recovery phrase and transfer your assets.
Follow-up: Investigators found at least one device containing an unauthorized hardware implant that could read the 24-word recovery phrase during setup and transmit it via eSIM/LTE. This was physical supply-chain tampering, not a remote hack of Ledger’s systems.
2️⃣ Key distinctions
Affected: Devices sold or held in stock through third-party reseller channels in the regions mentioned above.
Not currently implicated: There is “no evidence of compromise” involving sales through Ledger’s official website or official direct-shipping channels.
This does not mean: All Ledger devices worldwide are compromised, that there is a firmware backdoor, or that the Secure Element was breached.
Sales were also suspended for certain devices in Europe (such as at MediaMarkt/Saturn) due to individual suspicious units. However, that is a separate report and does not mean those units are from the same batches as those in Hong Kong/Southeast Asia.
3️⃣ If you bought a Ledger in Hong Kong/Southeast Asia
1. Unopened/not initialized: Don’t set it up yet. Contact Ledger’s official support and the original seller to verify the batch.
2. Initialized and used to transfer crypto: Treat the recovery phrase as potentially compromised. Use a new device and a new recovery phrase to create a new wallet, then move your assets. Do not use the old device again.
3. The device came with a prewritten recovery phrase/card: Treat it as tampered with and never use it.
4. Don’t trust DMs claiming “customer support can recover your assets,” asking you to “verify your wallet by connecting it,” or telling you to “install remote-access software.” These are all follow-up scams.
5. Keep your order details, serial number, packaging, and device. Don’t reset or discard anything, so it can be used for claims or law-enforcement investigations.
🔔 Investment advice
$TRUTH remains in a strong uptrend, and momentum has not yet shown clear signs of exhaustion. Although the 24-hour gain has exceeded 47%, creating the risk of a short-term pullback, the overall trend favors going long. Prefer waiting for a pullback before entering; don’t blindly chase the price higher. $BTC $ETH
