Gold extends its decline for a second session as the Fed signals another hike and markets eye inflation data
Gold prices held near $4,155.00 per ounce on Wednesday, following remarks by John Williams, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, who indicated that another interest rate hike may be appropriate this year. However, his expectation that there would be no further tightening in 2027 offered some support to the precious metal.

Traders awaited U.S. inflation data for fresh clues about the central bank’s monetary policy path.

At 00:28 Saudi time, XAU/USD edged down 0.2% to $4,154.63 per ounce, while gold futures held steady at $4,177.45.
