A wick to a 30-candle high, then a sharp sell-off, followed by a 4h candle with $550 million in volume that drove it right back up.

Price action.
The 10-12 04 candle had $405.8 million in volume and hit a high of 1348.89—the ceiling for the past 30 candles. Then two consecutive 4h candles broke down, plunging from 1265 to 1166, with a wick touching 1156.42. The drop was fast. The 10-13 00 candle opened at 1166.57, hit a low of 1122.38, closed at 1212.28, and traded $552.7 million in volume—the heaviest of the past 30 candles. The wick and the hammer candle appeared in the same window. That’s what’s unusual. Markets don’t normally move like this. The wick suggests someone was fishing for liquidity; the hammer suggests serious money was waiting below. When both happen at once, it means the market is changing hands.

Market sentiment.
The funding rate is +0.0050%/8h, basically flat. The price is up 4.17% in 24 hours on $1.56 billion in volume, yet the funding rate hasn’t budged. If this were purely sentiment-driven, leverage would have multiplied several times over by now. A rally with funding rates this flat is being driven more by spot buying. This kind of money isn’t in a hurry to leave; it holds, keeping the funding rate pinned. Retail leveraged traders haven’t entered yet. Even if some chase the move later, they’ll be late to the party and won’t pose much of a threat.

Whale activity.
Volume leaves fingerprints. The two candles on the way down—$304.1 million on 10-12 16 and $383.0 million on 10-12 20—showed real selling. But at 1122.38, one candle absorbed $552.7 million. Sellers couldn’t break through, and buyers didn’t back off. After that, volume tapered off in stages: $243.8 million, $322.2 million, $326.3 million, $226.8 million, and $92.4 million. The selling side ran out of steam first. This drop in volume doesn’t mean nobody cares; it means most of the weak hands have been cleared out, and the remaining holders aren’t willing to sell at this level.

Volume-price structure.
The latest volume ratio is 0.15 compared with the average of the previous 20 candles. The reversal candle had the highest volume, while volume declined on the candles recovering afterward. That’s a textbook absorption pattern. There’s no need to chase a rally on shrinking volume—wait for supply to clear. Even if price pushes to 1284.9 again, if volume doesn’t follow, it’s a false breakout. I won’t count it. The signal that really matters is whether 4h volume near 1284.9 can expand back above $300 million. If it does, the breakout is confirmed; if not, everything below 1284.9 is just range-bound action. Don’t read too much into it.

Candlestick details.
The 10-13 00 candle had a 44-point lower wick and closed at 1212.28, near its high. Those who caught the falling knife got in near the bottom. The 10-14 00 candle rallied to 1284.9, right at the pre-calculated resistance level. The latest candle closed as a doji at 1265, on just $39 million in volume. Price hit the level, neither side moved, and now the market is waiting for direction. A doji isn’t a signal—it’s a pause. The pause itself doesn’t mean much; what matters is which way the next candle moves first.

Nini’s plan.
Current price: 1265.68.

I’m leaning bullish, but only if price holds above 1225, around the low of the 10-12 16 candle. A high-volume break above 1284.9 opens the way to 1348.89. If price fails at 1284.9 twice and volume doesn’t pick up, I’m staying out. Then I’d look first at 1156, then 1122.
Support: 1122.38. Resistance: 1284.9. The 30-candle ceiling: 1348.89. Remember those three numbers; nothing else matters.
As for position sizing, don’t pick a direction while price is forming a doji. Wait for it to show its hand, then size in. One candle later means one less stop-out.
