Epic Bitcoin whale “awakens” after 14 years of deep sleep

An anonymous crypto investor who bought or mined 1,000 BTC back in 2010 suddenly brought their wallet back to life and transferred all the funds to a new address, according to Lookonchain.
Why this is remarkable and worth sharing:
• Astronomical profits: In 2010, when Satoshi Nakamoto was still active on forums, this entire stash of 1,000 bitcoins was worth just $3,883. By the time of the transfer, the coins’ value had soared to more than $89 million, according to Lookonchain. The profit amounted to an astonishing number of millions of percent.
• Nerves of steel or a lost password? The crypto community is now actively debating who this owner is. Is it someone with incredible patience (“diamond hands”) who was simply waiting for the right moment, or someone who finally found a note with an old password in the attic after 14 years?
• The Satoshi era: These wallets are known as “ancient whales” from crypto’s early days. The fact that their private keys haven’t been lost always draws interest, because moving such large amounts of old bitcoin sometimes makes the market nervous about a possible sell-off.
