$BTW is rallying strongly, but the number of open contracts is declining. I wouldn’t interpret this acceleration as direct evidence of a large influx of new longs. Short-term momentum is strong, but I wouldn’t chase at this level: first, see whether the newly broken range holds on a retest, then assess whether the rally can continue.

At 12:15 Beijing time on October 14, Binance’s BTWUSDT perpetual contract was quoted at 2.5920, up 45.080% over the rolling 24 hours, with approximately 397 million USDT in trading volume. It ranked first among 523 eligible USDT perpetual contracts.

The move shifted from a slow advance in the morning to a clear acceleration. The three full hourly candles from 04:00 to 07:00 closed progressively higher, from 1.9522 to 1.9728, with hourly volume around 3 million USDT. The 07:00–08:00 candle closed at 2.0852, up about 5.70%, as volume rose to 12.41 million. Price moved above the preceding range, and participation began to expand as well.

The four full hours from 08:00 to 12:00 just ended, rising from 2.0852 to a close of 2.5952, up about 24.46%, on approximately 184 million USDT in volume—8.68 times the 21.19 million recorded in the prior four hours. This shows that the advance coincided with increased participation, supporting a stronger assessment of short-term momentum. However, the four-hour high of 2.7536 was not sustained into the close. Despite the strong rally, some of the gains were given back, so the high cannot be treated as a level that has been firmly established.

The final 11:00–12:00 candle is especially notable: it rose from 2.3694 to 2.5952, up about 9.53%, on 91.89 million USDT in volume—about 210.77% more than the previous hour’s 29.57 million. It accounted for nearly half the volume in the four-hour period. The price reached a high of 2.7536 but closed below it; its low of 2.3100 was also below the previous hour’s close of 2.3694. This shows that the acceleration involved substantial back-and-forth movement, rather than a steady, one-way advance.

In contrast to the price acceleration, OI fell from 58.85 million contracts at 08:00 to 55.91 million at 12:00, a decline of about 4.99%. It dropped a further 2.90% during 11:00–12:00 alone. By contract count, exposure is shrinking. This may include the closing of existing positions, but the data cannot distinguish between long profit-taking, short covering, and liquidations. Nor is there trade-by-trade liquidation evidence to confirm a short squeeze. The notional value of open positions can rise as prices rise, so an increase in notional value should not be described as a net inflow of new capital.

The latest settled funding rate at 12:00 was positive 0.001142%, compared with negative 0.002850% at 08:00. It has changed sign, but its absolute magnitude remains very small. The change in settlement direction—from shorts paying longs to longs paying shorts—describes a shift in the cost backdrop. It is not enough to show that the market is extremely crowded, nor can it predict the next settlement.

BTW refers to Bitway, as verified against Binance’s official contract announcement. A search of project materials and original exchange sources did not uncover a single announcement from today that could directly explain the acceleration. Earlier listings and trading campaigns are old background information; I won’t repackage them as catalysts for today’s move or infer from the rally that business revenue has already increased.

Next, watch whether the area around the previous hour’s high of 2.3987 holds on a retest. If lows continue to rise during a pullback and closes remain above the breakout range, then we can assess a recovery of 2.7536. Below, watch 2.3100 and 2.2354, both of which are previously recorded hourly lows, not guaranteed support levels. If increased volume still fails to preserve gains above, or the breakout range is lost again, I would lower my assessment of the rally’s continuation.

The new four-hour candle from 12:00 to 16:00 has only just begun, so the current quote is no substitute for a full close. What we can confirm now is that volume-backed acceleration and shrinking exposure are occurring together. Further progress still needs to be confirmed by price holding onto its gains. I place more weight on the quality of the retest and would avoid chasing the rally based solely on its top-ranked position.
