Japanese Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet announced on October 13 that it plans to issue ¥52 billion (approximately $329 million) in unsecured, zero-coupon Euro-yen convertible bonds due in 2031, with settlement expected to be completed on October 29. The proceeds will be used to refinance loans collateralized by $BTC and to implement a share buyback. The company’s share price has fallen nearly 90% from its peak. This financing is intended to optimize its debt structure and avoid using its Bitcoin reserves.
