$MAGIC In this pullback, what concerns me more is that the overnight rebound has already been erased—not how far the price has fallen or whether it is time to buy the dip. The short-term picture looks weak, so I’d wait and see: hourly closes have been moving lower, volume has expanded on the decline, and there is still no sign of a recovery that can hold on to the ground regained.

At 10:49 Beijing time on October 14, Binance’s MAGICUSDT perpetual contract was quoted at 0.11588, down 11.501% over the rolling 24 hours, with approximately 91.52 million USDT in trading volume. The 10:00–11:00 hour is not yet complete, so the current price cannot stand in for a full hourly close. The price and volume data and open interest below are all based on this exchange’s contract data; spot figures are not mixed in.

From 00:00 to 04:00, the price rebounded from 0.11877 to 0.12524, rising about 5.45% over the complete four-hour period, with 14.66 million USDT in volume. Then, from 04:00 to 08:00, it reached a high of 0.12697 but retreated to close at 0.12306, down about 1.72%. Volume fell to 7.45 million, 49.21% lower than in the previous four hours. The rebound gains were not held, and the scale of buying activity was cut in half; the earlier recovery was already showing signs of weakening.

What really changed my assessment were the next three complete hourly candles. The 07:00–08:00 hour closed at 0.12306, the 08:00–09:00 hour at 0.12126, and the 09:00–10:00 hour at 0.11636. The lows fell in sequence to 0.12240, 0.12001, and 0.11552. The latest hour dropped about 4.04% and also lost 0.11852, near the starting point of the overnight rebound. The price has moved back into a lower range, so the overnight rise alone is no longer enough to conclude that support has recovered.

Hourly volume over the same period rose from 2.07 million to 2.38 million, then to 3.30 million USDT. Volume in the latest hour was up 38.84% from the previous hour. Greater participation accompanied a lower close, so I’d downgrade my assessment of buying support and wouldn’t yet treat this decline as a mild, low-volume consolidation. But trading volume is the total of both sides’ trades; it cannot be labeled net capital outflow, nor can a chart tell us who is selling.

Open interest was about 97.70 million tokens at 09:00 and fell to 95.56 million at 10:00, a decrease of around 2.20%. The price decline alongside shrinking exposure may indicate some position closures, but it does not prove that liquidations occurred, and it cannot distinguish between long stop-losses and short profit-taking. The latest available settled funding rate, for 08:00, was slightly positive at 0.002549%—too small to support a claim that “extreme crowding caused liquidations.”

MAGIC is associated with Treasure. The official website currently emphasizes AI-native physical and digital collectibles and identifies the project as being built on Base; it can no longer be adequately summed up as early-stage gaming infrastructure. But a product launch and increased demand for the token are two different things. Real usage and how value flows to MAGIC still need to be verified. I found no single announcement from today that was sufficiently verified to directly explain this several-hour decline, so for now my assessment is based mainly on price and volume.

Next, I’d first watch whether a complete hourly close can reclaim 0.11852, then whether a retest near 0.12001 can hold. Without that, an intraday bounce may still be no more than a weak rebound within a downtrend. Below, the first level to watch is the complete hourly low at 0.11552. The still-incomplete current hour has touched 0.11474; further back, the earlier low from October 13, 08:00–12:00, was 0.11353. These are observed price levels, not guaranteed support.

If the lows keep falling and rebounds fail to reclaim lost ground, I’ll maintain a bearish assessment. If higher lows form and closes reclaim lost ground, I’ll raise my assessment of the recovery. The 08:00–12:00 four-hour candle is not yet complete, so I won’t call its outcome early. Waiting for the price to recover is better grounded than guessing at a bottom based on the size of the drop.
