I noticed this during a review and wanted to share it.
Checking only the first and last few characters of an address won’t protect you from address poisoning, because it doesn’t cost much to generate an address with the same starting and ending characters.
Address poisoning doesn’t require access to your private key or your authorization signature. It relies entirely on the habit of copying addresses from transaction history and checking only the first and last few characters.
If you frequently send and receive stablecoins and use the address $ETH , you’re more likely to be targeted by address poisoning. Current balance: 2508.7.
If you found this useful, save it for later.
