ETH is up 3.37% on the day, outperforming BTC—this signal is worth watching.
📊 Market snapshot (October 14, 01:00 UTC)
• BTC $83,417 | +2.33% | 24h volume: $1.175B
• ETH $2,507 | +3.37% | 24h volume: $577M
• BNB $743.91 | +2.30%
【My take】
ETH outperforming BTC suggests capital is moving into risk assets, rather than this being a simple flight-to-safety rally in BTC. ETH surged from $2,425 to an intraday high of $2,538 today, with volume backing the move. Intraday trading volume topped 230,000 ETH, and price has broken above the previous resistance zone. BTC also held above $81,500 and quickly reclaimed $83,000. At the current price, it's less than 1% below the intraday high of $84,168.
The question is: is there enough volume to sustain the move? BTC's 24h turnover was just 14,000 BTC—a moderate level, not particularly strong. Without sustained inflows of new capital, this move looks more like a short-covering spike than a trend reversal.
【Trading plan】
For BTC, watch resistance at $84,200; a daily close above it would confirm direction. A pullback to $82,000–$82,500 would be a normal support test. A break below $81,200 would invalidate the short-term bullish signal, so it would be best to stay on the sidelines.
For ETH, the key level is $2,540. A close above it today would open the way toward $2,600+. A drop back below $2,460 would signal a false breakout; reduce positions and wait.
Entry conditions: both assets stabilize and volume picks up; favor ETH. If price spikes to test resistance without volume, keep position sizes in check.
If you have a different take on resistance at these levels, share it in the comments. I'll keep following the market.
