In the futures market these days, timing is crucial

When trading futures, I only watch how crowded the market is—not what people say in chat groups.

There are only three sets of numbers that matter in futures. Everything else is noise.

1. BTC 83455, 24h 81034-84168, change +2.64%.
2. BTC open interest notional: $7.69 billion, 24h +1.63%
3. Total-account long/short ratio: 1.29

My take: Open interest is up 1.63% over 24h while price is up 2.64%. That’s a rise driven by new positions, not short covering. There’ll be profit-taking on pullbacks.

Execution ranges (based on the current price and market structure, not an old chart):
- Momentum zone: Consider chasing only after price holds above 84,123; otherwise, it’s a false breakout.
- Buy the retest: 82,454-82,954; don’t buy if that level breaks.
- No-trade zone: If the 1h candle closes below 81,953, skip this trade.

My position: I only buy pullbacks; I don’t chase breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position, but I’ll only add on a pullback.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are left blank.
If meme coins aren’t outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Key takeaway: When open interest rises while price moves sideways, it usually means both sides are adding positions—not that major players are accumulating.
A thought: VIX <16: In a slow-rising U.S. stock market, you can follow the sentiment, but trim your futures position by one step first.
