Strategy bought only 250 $BTC this week, its smallest purchase since the start of the year — and spent 9 times that amount buying back its own shares.

Michael Saylor’s company just spent $21.5 million to buy another 250 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 848,250 BTC. In the same week, it spent $192 million buying back its own STRC preferred shares — nearly 9 times the amount it spent on Bitcoin.

This is Strategy’s smallest BTC purchase of 2026, according to the company’s latest filing.

For years, Strategy has been the biggest weekly buyer of BTC, scooping up more almost like clockwork. Now, money is flowing heavily into the company’s own shares instead.

$BTC is recovering slightly at the moment, around $83,200, up more than 1.6% in 24 hours after falling below $81,000 yesterday.

One thing to watch: will Strategy return to its usual buying pace next week, or is this the start of a new priority?
