Primary Market | What’s the difference between circulating supply, total supply, and maximum supply?
Total supply generally refers to all tokens that have been created, minus those that have been burned. It includes tokens that are not yet in circulation.
An unlimited total supply doesn’t necessarily mean severe inflation. What matters is how many new tokens are actually added each year and whether there’s a burn mechanism.
The maximum supply of $BTC is fixed at 21 million tokens, and the amount already mined is getting closer and closer to that limit. Currently: 83228.01.
If you don’t understand something, avoid taking a large position. Try it with a small amount first.
