What’s the difference between circulating supply, total supply, and max supply?
Max supply is the maximum number of tokens that can ever exist under the protocol’s rules. For Bitcoin, that’s 21 million.
No cap on total supply doesn’t necessarily mean severe inflation. What matters is how many new tokens are actually added each year and whether there’s a burning mechanism.
$BTC has a fixed max supply of 21 million, and the number already mined is getting closer to that limit. Current price: 83504.53.
