Trading today’s CPI? Better to watch from the sidelines
Jumping into a trade right before the inflation data comes out is like handing your money to the whales. With oil rising and adding pressure, the market won’t show any mercy to anyone blindly using leverage.
Instead of trying to guess the number, I have a pretty clear plan: If the data comes in cool and $BTC and $ETH get a relief spike, there’s no way I’m rushing in to buy out of FOMO. I’d rather wait half an hour for the madness to pass and look for entries only if the pullback holds up well.
If the number comes in hot and everything tanks, keep an eye on $PAXG as a safe haven. But with crypto, I’m only interested in looking for buys way down at spot prices—no futures.
My rule today would be to stay patient. When the order book gets thin, your stops can get swept in a second. Better to enter late with confirmation than get liquidated all at once. Are you going to trade, or would you rather sit tight and see what happens? #CPIWatch
