Why Are Bank of America Shares Falling Today?

Bank of America shares fell 2.30% in after-hours trading after U.S. regulators announced a historic $1.21 billion enforcement action against the bank over systemic failures in its anti-money-laundering and sanctions-compliance programs. The penalty includes a $1.2 billion fine imposed by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), including a $750 million civil penalty imposed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)—the largest in the regulator’s history. The penalty stems from the bank’s failure to report more than $5 billion in suspicious transactions linked to foreign illicit-finance networks, including alleged Chinese money-laundering schemes and illegal activity near the U.S. southern border. Management acknowledged that the cost will be reflected in third-quarter results, reducing earnings per share by approximately $0.17.#CPIWatch #9月CPI来袭原油美债走势如何 #UKHighCourtRulesChineseLawGovernsBitcoinClaims #FSBWarns$300BStablecoinMarketCouldFaceRuns #RBNZPausesDigitalCashDevelopment
