【BTC 4H】Before CPI, I’m only waiting at 81,000—not chasing at 83,000
$BTC Binance quoted BTC at 83,410 at 06:09. The U.S. September CPI will be released tonight at 20:30. It’s the last inflation report before the Fed’s October 28 rate meeting.
I’d rather wait for a pullback before going long. Here are three reasons:
① Structure: The 4H highs and lows are both rising. The 80,172–81,255 support zone overlaps with the trendline (around 81,157).
② Volume and price: The rebound is happening on declining volume, while selloffs are seeing rising volume. Chasing a long at the current price isn’t worth it.
③ Futures: The long/short account ratio has fallen from 1.47 to 1.28, and the funding rate is near zero—longs aren’t crowded.
Scenario 1 (primary): If price pulls back to the support zone and holds, consider placing a small long order around 81,000, with a stop at 79,600, first target at 84,612, and second target at 86,477.
Scenario 2 (backup): If price pushes into the 86,477–87,442 resistance zone without a surge in volume, consider placing a small short order around 87,000, with a stop at 87,900 and a target at 83,807.
Invalidation: If a 4H candle closes below 79,600, the uptrend structure is broken; exit the long and accept the loss.
If core CPI comes in at 0.3% month over month, it could reignite talk of rate hikes. Are you betting on 0.2% or 0.3%?
