$DOS 1 October 12 at 20:00—the 4-hour candle was the most extreme one I’ve seen this month.

It opened at 0.325, surged to 0.8542, plunged to 0.1456, and closed at 0.23. One candle covered the distance others take a year to travel. Its upper wick was more than three times the candle body, and its volume came to $153 million. The previous dozen or so candles combined didn’t come close to that.

This wasn’t a normal rally. Someone pumped it and then dumped it immediately.

Market signals: It took just 4 hours to blast off from 0.2894 to 0.8542, followed by a steep crash of the same magnitude. Classic liquidity hunting—first push the price up to trigger short stops and FOMO buying, then unload heavily at the top. The current price is 0.2114, down 75% from the spike high. Three rebounds—to 0.2424, 0.2516, and 0.2229—were all pushed back down. 0.23 is the first hurdle.

Market sentiment: The funding rate is -0.0321%, which is negative, so shorts are paying longs. More traders started shorting after the flash crash, and the consensus is bearish. But negative funding also means shorts are crowded, so a sudden price surge could trigger a short squeeze. I wouldn’t chase shorts here; the risk-reward isn’t attractive—the potential gains are limited, and another spike could wipe them out.

Whale activity: That $153 million candle says it all. Typical 4-hour volume is two or three million coins, but this suddenly ballooned by more than 100 times. Someone unloaded precisely around 0.8, while there was likely strong buying interest near 0.1456. Subsequent volumes fell from 14.5 million to 7.6 million, 5.7 million, and 3 million. The whales pumped it and left; now the small fish are left to pick each other off.

Volume-price structure: Volume contracted rapidly after the flash crash. The latest 4-hour volume was 1.8 million, with a volume ratio of just 0.15—down more than 70%. Liquidity is drying up and price swings are narrowing, but once volume comes in and breaks out, the direction should be clear. Wait for a signal: reclaim 0.23, or test 0.1456 again?

Candlestick details: At 00:00 on the 13th, it closed as a bullish candle with a long lower wick (bottoming at 0.2136). Then came four consecutive bearish candles at 04:00, 08:00, 12:00, and 16:00, with a low of 0.206. At 20:00 it turned green and closed at 0.2112, but volume was only 1.8 million—very weak. This small bullish candle looks more like a pause in the downtrend than a reversal. If the next candle doesn’t reclaim 0.215 on rising volume, the price will likely keep grinding lower.

My view is bearish. After an extreme-volume candle with a long upper wick, four consecutive bearish candles followed on declining volume, and the rebound has been weak. Support at 0.1456 is a long way off, with no clear support in between. If 0.206 breaks, the next levels to watch are 0.18 and 0.1456.

Nini’s plan: Current price 0.2114. Stay on the sidelines with a small position. Consider going long if it reclaims 0.23 on rising volume, with a stop below 0.206. If it breaks below 0.206 on low volume, don’t buy the dip; wait and reassess at 0.18. Volatility is extreme, so position sizing matters more than getting the direction right.
