Guys, last night’s liquidation was brutal! In the past 24 hours, $725 million was liquidated across the market: $588 million in long positions and only $137 million in shorts. More than 150,000 people were liquidated. BTC and ETH each saw around $167 million in liquidations, while SOL saw over $50 million. The largest liquidation was on Binance, where a long position worth nearly $10 million was wiped out near $81,000.

Times like these really test your nerves, and highly leveraged futures traders are the most likely to get caught in the crossfire. The market is fluctuating between $80,000 and $84,000, and with CPI data still to come, the slightest bit of news could trigger a chain of liquidations. My advice: if you trade futures, keep your leverage under control—no more than 5x—and set stop-losses. Don’t hope to win it all back in one trade. For spot trading, scaling in gradually is safer.

The liquidation heatmap shows plenty of liquidity below, so if the market drops further, there could be another wave of liquidations. But there’s also short-side pressure above. $BTC is the market’s anchor right now; $ETH is a bit more volatile, while $BNB is holding up relatively well. Remember, futures are a double-edged sword—don’t become just another number in that tally.

Personally, I think there are opportunities for both bulls and bears at this level, but the risks aren’t balanced. If the bulls weather the CPI release, we could see a quick rebound. But if the data is bad and another wave of liquidations hits, losing $81K could make sentiment even worse. That’s why position management matters most—don’t go all in.

Look at the people who got liquidated: many were chasing pumps and panic-selling, with far too much leverage. Guys, trading is about lasting longer, not getting rich overnight. Keeping an eye on liquidation data can also help you avoid high-risk zones.
