Blur is closing its website on November 12, but its marketplace contracts will stay live. That makes the fee switch the big question for $BLUR's future.
BLUR holders can vote on it, and the marketplace charges no trading fees today. Monthly volume fell from about $1.43 billion in March 2023 to a reported under $7 million in March 2026. Blend will also stop matching new loans on November 12. Borrowers must repay or risk default, and Blur says it plans a withdrawal tool afterward.
Arca proposed a 1% fee in 2023. That is an old proposal, not a new decision. Hypothetical gross math: 1% of $7 million a month is $70,000. But fees could push traders away, so the real number could be much lower.
My take: a fee switch only matters if traders stay after fees start.
Upbit, a South Korean exchange, has put BLUR under an investment warning and suspended deposits. That is Upbit only, not Binance, and BLUR has not been delisted. Its review could end trading support.
Binance spot: about $0.0119, down about 21% in 24 hours.
