South Korea just blocked 27 crypto exchanges, yet $BTC is still sitting above $83K. KuCoin, MEXC, BingX, BitMart, Phemex and others are now cut off at the web level, on top of the earlier app store bans. 44 operators were also referred to investigators, with up to 5 years in prison on the table. So does it move the whole market? Not directly. Korean traders aren’t leaving crypto, they’re being pushed toward the 28 registered operators like Upbit and Bithumb, where the top five average 0.16% in fees versus up to 10% on the blocked venues. The ones who feel it are the offshore exchanges themselves, and smaller alts that relied on their Korean volume could see liquidity thin out. The bigger risk is the KOSPI crash: down 15% in five sessions, roughly $260B wiped. Tom Lee warns margin liquidations are bleeding into crypto, and $406M in longs got flushed on the dip.
