A friend just asked me: “Copper prices are nearing historical highs, and expectations that the FOMC will pause rate hikes are supporting prices.” Is that good news or bad news?
My answer: The broader outlook is positive, but good news ≠ prices going up tomorrow. It depends on whether the money agrees.
