Before looking at fund flows, first understand trading volume.
Trading volumes in futures and spot markets often differ considerably. Futures volume includes a lot of leveraged turnover, so the two don’t mean exactly the same thing.
A volume spike may also be caused by clustered liquidations: liquidation orders are passive trades, and this kind of volume means something different from active trading, so consider it alongside liquidation activity.
Don’t place orders during the most volatile few minutes. Wait for prices to stabilize before deciding.
