Will September’s Consumer Price Index affect oil and Treasury bonds? 🔥 #CPIWatch

Tensions are escalating in the Middle East, and oil prices are rising along with them, increasing energy costs in the U.S. Markets are now expecting a higher-than-expected inflation reading for September.

In my view, the data points to a mixed scenario:

1️⃣ Oil BZUSDT:
Brent crude (BZUSDT) is up more than 4% this week amid geopolitical tensions. According to EIA data, U.S. oil inventories have fallen, supporting further gains. If CPI comes in above the expected 2.9%, we could see BZUSDT test $80.

How will I respond? I’ll adjust my BZUSDT position by reducing risk ahead of the release and using a tight stop-loss. I used the trading-sharing card to participate and increase my opportunities.

2️⃣ Treasury bonds TBT, TMFUSDT, and RWUSD:
A higher CPI reading could revive bets on another rate hike by the Federal Reserve before year-end. This would put upward pressure on bond yields. We’ve seen TBT (a fund that moves inversely to long-term bonds) rise 3.1%, while TMFUSDT has also gained, reflecting expectations of higher yields.

I think Treasury bonds will come under pressure if inflation remains stubborn. I’ll adjust my trades in TBT, TMFUSDT, and RWUSD by hedging with short-term positions.
