Market moves, earnings, technicals—let’s discuss them separately today
Don’t use last week’s rate-cut story to explain today’s market.
To see who’s leading and who’s lagging by sector, look at the percentage moves, not the stories.
Nasdaq 27,213 (5-day -1.40%, Yahoo)
Crude oil 93.66 (5-day +2.37%, Yahoo)
S&P 500 7,800 (5-day -0.24%, Yahoo)
Assessment: VIX 15.24, with volatility suppressed. At levels like this, US stocks can grind higher, but don’t use their gains as a reason to lever up in crypto. If VIX bounces, futures get wiped out first.
Flows: BTC 83664 (+0.86%). ETH is weaker than BTC, down 0.48% over 24h versus BTC’s +0.86%; exchange rate 0.03014. Capital is concentrating in BTC, so stay on the sidelines with altcoins for now.
VIX is now 15.24. If it gets above 18, I’ll cut my futures positions in half. I’m not going to argue with the US market’s closing price.
My position: I only buy pullbacks; I don’t chase breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position. Any increase has to wait for a pullback level.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. I won’t fill in missing numbers.
Are you in cash waiting for a pullback, or are you already in?

Takeaway: ETF issuer creations and redemptions are flows, not bullish or bearish talking points.
Thought: The Nasdaq is clearly outperforming the S&P 500: follow growth’s higher beta, but don’t make up a broad-based bull market.
