On-chain options trading volume hit $4.8–5.6 billion in September, up from just $1.9 billion a month ago. Is this growth about to take a bite out of Deribit’s business?

Earlier, $HYPE ’s market cap topped $15 billion, while Aster and Lighter pushed their combined market share from 70% to below 40% in just four months.

Now, 90% of open interest in on-chain options is concentrated on a single platform. That’s way too concentrated, so volatility is bound to pick up.

This isn’t a spot worth chasing. Keep some powder dry until the direction becomes clearer—it’s better than making rash moves.

Do you think Derive will take over from Deribit, or will a dark horse turn the whole sector upside down? Reply 1 if you’re backing Derive, or 2 if you think a dark horse is coming.
