#摩根大通财报 To be honest, this time $JPM I guessed wrong, but the stock price still rose in the direction that slapped my face 😂

Adjusted EPS was 5.75, below the market expectation of 5.93. I had previously called for 6.1 to 6.3, so I was quite far off. Revenue was $50.9 billion, versus the expected $51.2 billion. I guessed $52 billion, which was also too optimistic ❌

What dragged it down was fixed-income trading: $5.4 billion, down 4% YoY, while the market had expected around $6 billion. On top of that, there was a $660 million loss on securities investments, and expenses still rose 12%.

But the bright spots were truly strong ✅ Stock trading +49%, net interest income of $27.1 billion, +13%, and the credit card charge-off rate fell to 2.91%.

On the conference call, management’s neutral-case outlook for next year’s net interest income, excluding trading operations, was about $107 billion. That’s the reason it was pulled back from 321 all the way up before the open.

I kept watching it at the open, and now it’s around 340, nearly 2% above yesterday’s close.

Looking at the chart: the green line at 325 is support; it dipped to 321 premarket and got bought back up; the red line at 351 is resistance. I’m still staying long for now, first watching 351. If it closes back below 325, I’ll admit I was wrong.

A stock can miss expectations and still rise—this shakeout in bank stocks actually makes me more comfortable 🚀

⚠️Just my personal rambling, not investment advice.
