Binance futures liquidations totaled $2.3 million over the past hour: $1.44 million in long positions (62.7%) and $858,000 in short positions.
After a liquidation, I usually look at three things:
① Who got flushed out: longs made up the majority, so some leverage has been cleared out;
② The largest concentration was at $ETH ($564,000), where volatility is usually greatest afterward;
③ Whether open interest also declined: if it did, leverage was genuinely flushed out; if not, new leveraged positions are entering.
The longer funding rates stay high, the higher the cost of holding positions—and the more people will be unable to hold on.
