Looking back at our group members’ previous Hong Kong bank account applications, I noticed some clear changes in October:
🌈 It’s become easier to open an account with Bank of China (Hong Kong), so more and more people are applying through its online app.
🌈 It’s become harder to open an account with Elephant Bank, as it requires proof of HK$100,000 in an overseas account, so fewer people are applying.
🌈 ZA Bank is still the top choice, and the perks from Ping An Digital Bank are still worth claiming, so people are still applying to both.
🌈 Ant Bank approves applications in seconds and makes withdrawing funds really convenient, so it’s still the perfect Plan B.
🌈 Hang Seng Bank is a good alternative to HSBC, with no minimum requirements and no account maintenance fees, so it’s also very popular.
