I just came across Evernorth’s closing price on its first day of trading: $16.91, down 1.05%, with trading volume of around 1.29 million shares. And $XRP fell even harder—something about this signal doesn’t feel right to me~
At first glance, the drop doesn’t seem that big, right?
But the ride was a real mind game. It surged to $19.38 intraday, up more than 13%, only to give all of that back—and then close in the red…
This price action suggests that the market may talk a good game about the “XRP treasury” concept, but its actions say it’s heading for the exit 😂
There are a few details worth taking a closer look at:
1️⃣ The SPAC redemption rate was as high as 80.3%. What does that mean?
It means that more than 80% of the original SPAC shareholders chose to get their money back and leave before the merger, suggesting that institutions didn’t have much confidence in the deal itself~
2️⃣ The listing itself won’t create demand for XRP. Most of the 473 million $XRP held by Evernorth came from investors exchanging coins they already owned for equity—it wasn’t bought on the open market with fresh cash. When you buy XRPN shares on Nasdaq, your money goes into the seller’s pocket; it doesn’t automatically create buying pressure for XRP~
3️⃣ XRP fell 3.03% that day. That’s the most painful part.
You’d think “the largest XRP treasury listing on Nasdaq” would be a positive narrative, right? 😂 Yet the token itself fell harder than the stock, which suggests the market didn’t treat this as good news at all~
So, does this actually mean anything?
I think that in the long run, it gives traditional investors a compliant, regulated way to gain exposure to $XRP —and that’s real progress. The company has also said it plans to pursue DeFi yield strategies and accumulate more XRP to increase the “X per share.” If it follows through, that could indeed create some buying pressure.
But the problem is, we haven’t seen any execution yet 😂
Put simply, the first-day price action followed the classic “buy the rumor, sell the news” script.
The anticipation had been building for months, but the actual listing turned into an opportunity to sell 😂
One more thing: don’t treat “listed on Nasdaq” as a bullish catalyst for XRP.
There’s only one real catalyst: when Evernorth uses that cash to buy XRP on the open market.
Otherwise, XRPN’s share price and XRP’s price will most likely go their separate ways 😂
Feel free to share your different views in the comments~
