Ethereum Name Service founder $ENS Nick Johnson has submitted an executable proposal to the DAO to activate the upgraded naming protocol ENSv2 on Ethereum mainnet. If approved, the original registrar contract will freeze new .eth registrations, while existing domain holders can continue renewing as usual without migrating. New registrations will be paused for several hours during the transition. The new architecture offers more flexible domain management permissions. Once the proposal passes, ENS Labs will transfer its remaining administrative rights to the DAO. The proposal is still in draft form, and the voting date has not been set. It requires 1 million votes to participate and a majority vote after seven days to pass. (Source: X)
